My name is Connery Grissom, I am a Southern California–based artist transforming stainless steel into expressive works of art. Using the T.I.G. (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding process, I treat metal not as an industrial material but as a dynamic canvas, carefully manipulating varying levels of heat to melt and patina the surface, coaxing out intricate textures and a spectrum of unexpected colors. Each mark is guided by both precision and spontaneity—where control meets reaction—resulting in pieces that feel powerful yet fluid. At the core of my practice is a simple but driving intention: to create something beautiful.
